One Arrested in Newport Drug Bust
One man is in custody facing drug charges after a raid in Newport.
Early Tuesday morning, members of the Newport Police Vice/Narcotics Unit, and the Newport Special Response Team, executed a search warrant on a residence on Park Holm.
Police found Thomas Dyer, 30, inside the home. When Dyer was in custody, police did a search of the residence. They found a 16 grams of crack cocaine, with a street value of $1,600. Also discovered was a small amount of marijuana, packaging materials, and other paraphernalia, along with $500 cash.
Dyer was charged with Possession with Intent to Deliver “Crack” Cocaine and Possession of Marijuana-Subsequent Offense.
The investigation continues.
