One Dead in I-95 Wreck
One person is dead and several others are in the hospital after an accident on I-95 North in Warwick this morning.
State Police say four people were riding in a Ford Focus which apparently rear-ended a Dodge Stratus just before 2am. The Focus rolled over the jersey barriers and landed in the southbound lanes of the highway.
17 year-old Mariely Veras of Providence was thrown from the car and killed; the driver is identified as 19 year-old Antonio Caprio. Caprio was also ejected and remains in critical condition. The other two occupants remained in the car and are listed in stable condition.
Nobody in the Focus was wearing seat belts; three people in the Stratus were wearing theirs and their injuries are described as non-life threatening.
A third car was struck by flying debris from the rollover but none of the occupants were injured.
