One killed in early morning accident in New Bedford

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE)- One person died after an early morning crash in New Bedford on Sunday.

Lieutenant Scott Carola said officers responded to the single-car crash on Route 18 near the Walnut Street intersection around 2 a.m.

Carola said officers found two people inside of the car at the scene.

One of the victims died after suffering serious injuries.

New Bedford Police and Massachusetts State Police are investigating the incident.
