FALL RIVER, MASS. — A drug deal gone wrong left two Fall River men injured on 123 Fifth Street Tuesday.

Police say two suspects forced their way into a home on 123 Street Tuesday afternoon demanding marijuana.

During a struggle, one, 22-year-old tenant armed himself with a machete reportedly in self-defense and stabbed the suspect several times. However, one of the suspects got a hold of the weapon and began swinging it at the tenant striking him several times, slashing the man in the head, face, and hand.

Police say while the struggle continued in the apartment, it was reported a loud bang was heard coming from the hallway.

Turns out, the second suspect pulled out a gun and shot the other tenant in the arm.

Authorities say a 28 year-old male had entered St. Lukes Hospital with stab wounds and was subsequently transported to Rhode Island Hospital.

As a result, an arrest warrant was requested for the 28 year-old male with a last known Fall River address for Mayhem, Home Invasion, A&B with a Dangerous Weapon, and firearm charges.
