One sent to the hospital after moped accident in Cranston

CRANSTON, R.I (WLNE) – State Police temporarily shut down travel lanes after a one person moped crash on Saturday night.

According to the police, they were alerted to the accident just after 8:10 p.m on Garfield avenue. 

Police say the driver seemingly just lost control of his bike, nobody else was involved in the crash and there was nothing in the road at the time. 

The driver, identified as a male, laid the moped down and slid down the road, according to police.

The driver was sent to Rhode Island Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
