One shot early Friday morning in Pawtucket

PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WLNE)- Pawtucket Police officers responded to a report of shots fired on Union St. early Friday morning.

Officers found a 32-year-old man with gunshot wounds outside of the Vibe Lounge, when they arrived on the scene.

The victim was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Police say that the victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

The officers on the scene had to request backup to maintain crowd control.

The Major Crime Unit was able to investigate the area after backup arrived.

This case remains open and investigation is ongoing.
