One wanted, one arrested for fatal shooting in New Bedford

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE) – One person has been arrested in connection to the fatal shooting of a man on David Street in New Bedford on Wednesday.

Officers responded to reports of a shooting outside of 67 David Street just after 3 p.m. on Wednesday and found a man suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim, 36-year-old Adilson Neves of New Bedford was pronounced dead at Saint Luke’s Hospital.

ABC6 spoke with Neves’s loved ones following the shooting.

The Bristol Country District Attorney’s Office announced Friday that Cheyanne Miranda, 31, has been arrested and charged with being an Accessory to Murder-After the Fact. Miranda was arraigned in New Bedford District Court and was released on personal recognizance, but was ordered to wear a GPS monitoring device and have no contact with anyone associated with the case.

Police have now issued an arrest warrant for Daquan Blanchard, 24, of Fall River, charging him with Murder and Carrying an Illegal Firearm.

Police continue to actively investigate the homicide.
