Opioid Crisis: RI Statewide Drug Take Back Day

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — In an effort to safely dispose of unused drugs and prescriptions, ABC6 News is teaming up with Rhode Island State Police for a ‘Drug Take Back Day’.
State Police are holding a drug take back day in several locations on Saturday June 9th, from 10am – 2pm.
If you would like to dispose of medication, you can visit:
- RI State Police Headquarters, 311 Danielson Pike, North Scituate
- RI State Police Wickford Barracks, 7875 Post Road, North Kingstown
- RI State Police Lincoln Woods Barracks,1575 Louisquisset Pike, Lincoln
- RI State Police Hope Valley Barracks, 54 Nooseneck Hill Road, Richmond
Here is a list of items that you can give back, no questions asked:
- Prescriptions
- Patches
- Medications
- Ointments
- Over-the-Counter Medications
- Vitamins
- Samples
- Pet Medications
The following items will not be accepted:
- Needles (sharps)
- Thermometers
- Hydrogen Peroxide
- Inhalers
- Aerosol Cans
- Non-prescription Ointments, Lotions or Liquids
- Medication from Businesses or Clinics
