Man crashes stolen out of state car in Coventry

COVENTRY, R.I. (WLNE) — Coventry police has a man in custody accused of stealing and crashing an out of state car Sunday morning.
Police say 25-year-old Khalif Davis stole a car from New York City.
He drove the car to Rhode Island where he slammed it into a utility pole on Route 117 in Coventry at approximately 7:41 a.m. Sunday.
The accident shutdown parts of Cahoon Road to Lewis Farm Road.
Davis fled the scene on foot, but was eventually arrested by officers.
He was charged with the following:
- Possession of a Stolen Vehicle
- Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Deliver
- Obstructing an Officer in Execution of Duty
- Driving with an Expired License
Police say Davis was arraigned at the Coventry Police Headquarters and was remanded to the ACI Intake Service Center.
