Outages in the Ocean State drop below 1000 after brief storm

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Rhode Island Energy announced there are more than 5000 customers without power after a brief storm on Tuesday.

According to RI Energy’s webpage, the areas and number of customers affected are as follows:

Bristol County: 178 customers affected with restoration estimated for 6 p.m., Tuesday
Kent County: 174 customers affected with restoration estimated for 6 p.m., Tuesday
Newport County: 2 reported outage with restoration estimated for 5:45 p.m., Tuesday
Providence County: 228 customers affected with restoration estimated for 6 p.m., Tuesday
Washington County: 170 customers affected at this time
