Over 20% of Eleanor Slater patients have tested positive for COVID-19, all asymptomatic staff and patients to test once per month

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE)- Over 20% of the patients at Eleanor Slater Hospital have tested positive for COVID-19, according to spokesman Randy Edgar.

Edgar said that 47 of the 210 patients at the hospital have tested positive over the last 10 days.

The hospital is testing patients and staff who are asymptomatic, once each month. Anyone who exhibits symptoms is being tested.

Most of the positive patients have shown mild symptoms according to Edgar.

“The hospital is taking precautions that make good sense and allow the hospital to provide clinical care for the illnesses for which its patients are hospitalized,” Edgar said.
