NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE) — Crews will repair and paint a bridge in New Bedford five nights a week until fall.

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation said overnight work on the bridge carrying Hathaway Road over Route 140 will begin at 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Crews will be out from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday through Thursday. The work is weather permitting.

The project is expected to be completed in October.

The department said at least one lane of traffic will be open at all times. State police will monitor traffic and signs will be posted in the area.
