Paralyzed puppy looking for a forever home

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – The Friends of Homeless Animals RI say that a five-month old puppy came to the shelter as a survivor of cruelty with a broken spine.

Courage, a Basenji/German Pinscher mix, has suffered from animal cruelty has learned to use her wheelchair and does not let her disability hold her back. The Friends of Homeless Animals RI says she loves to play with her fellow dog friends and loves to give and receive affection.

Courage is described as a happy girl who has no idea that she is different.  The shelter says that although she has been treated so badly, she still responds with love, forgiveness, and grace.

“We know it’s a challenge to commit to caring for a disabled puppy, but trust us when we tell you the Courage is absolutely worth the extra time and effort it might take to keep her healthy. She’s going to be a wonderful best friend and companion for a lucky family”, said Friends of Homeless Animals, Inc. in a statement.
