Park Avenue bridge in Cranston reopens after year-long closure

CRANSTON, R.I. (WLNE) — The Park Avenue Railroad Bridge in Cranston reopened Friday after being closed for over a year.

Gov. Dan McKee was joined by Cranston Mayor Ken Hopkins and members of the Rhode Island Department of Transportation for the reopening.

“Thank you to RIDOT and the women and men who worked to repair the bridge and get it back open,” the governor said.

The replacement project cost about $12 million and had been in progress since last May.
