Parking rates may increase at Misquamicut State Beach

WESTERLY, RI (WLNE) – The price to park at Misquamicut State Beach may be going up.

The Rhode Island DEM has a scheduled virtual hearing on Monday at noon to discuss the rate increase.

Under the proposal, the daily parking rate for Rhode Island residents will increase from $6 to $10.

A non-resident would shell out $20 for the day. Right now it’s at $12.

According to the DEM, the modest increase in beach fees at Misquamicut would limit the burden on Rhode Island taxpayers.
