Part of Cottage Street in Pawtucket to close for 4 weeks

PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WLNE) — A section of Cottage Street in Pawtucket will close for about four weeks starting Monday.

Rhode Island Energy crews will be running a new gas line under the street, impacting access to the George Bennett Highway.

The closure will impact the eastbound entrance to the highway from the O’Reilley’s Auto Parts entrance to the eastbound intersection at Freeman Street.

Traffic on the highway will not be affected.

Police detail will be on site 24 hours a day until the project is complete.
