Part of ‘Good Burger 2’ to be filmed at old Friendly’s restaurant in North Providence

NORTH PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The sequel to a beloved 90s comedy will be filmed throughout Rhode Island this summer.
The Rhode Island Film & Television Office took to social media this week to recruit actors and extras for “Good Burger 2.”
The original movie, starring Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell, was made based off the Nickelodeon sketch “All That” in 1997.
The actors said they will return to play their roles as Dexter and Ed.
Filming is expected to begin in mid-May.
North Providence residents received a flyer saying part of the movie will be filmed at the old Friendly’s restaurant on Mineral Spring Avenue, which closed its doors in 2019.
The flyer noted that traffic may be impacted on tentative filming dates, but residents will always be able to get to their homes.
