Passenger ran from Seekonk police during traffic stop that led to the seizure of 250 bags of heroin

SEEKONK, Mass. (WLNE): One woman ran away from police after a traffic stop that led to the seizure of 250 bags of heroin, according to the Seekonk Police Department. 

Police stopped the car on the overpass of Interstate 195 in Seekonk on Saturday night.  250 bags of heroin were seized, totaling 65 grams, according to a social media post.  The driver was arrested, but police confirm a woman in the passenger seat ran away. 

Massachusetts State Police set up a perimeter on Interstate 195 at the Seekonk exit after the escape. 

According to the Seekonk Police Department, the woman is not in custody but they have called off the search. Police did not specify why.
