Patriots’ Cole Strange visits Young Wood Elementary students
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A special visit for the students at Young Woods Elementary school Wednesday morning, from New England Patriots offensive lineman Cole Strange.
Strange just finished out his rookie season with the Patriots and was the second visitor from the team to go to the school.
In September, defensive back, Jalen Mills, visited Young Woods to kick off of the school year.
He promised the children that if they had a perfect attendance, someone from the team would come back to surprise them.
Strange, accompanied by Pat Patriot, Patriots cheerleaders, and a few souvenirs said it was special to be someone the kids were excited to see.
“The fact that they got so excited just to see us, and to think that we had some sort of help or like, incentive, so to speak, to help them come to school and them be like, ‘Maybe we’ll get to see them again’ is really special,” Strange said.
The Patriots staff added that if the kids keep it up, they can expect another visit, possibly in June.
Strange, now in the off season, said he’s looking forward to getting back to work for next season.
