Game day is here! The New England Patriots are kicking off the season Thursday night defending their championship.

Fans are excited about the game and getting their chance to shower Tom Brady with praise since the judge threw out his four-game Deflategate suspension.

No one is wasting time diving into pre-game celebrations, ready to welcome back the Super Bowl champs for another season.

"We just got here, already got the grills going. Got the charcoal ready–steak tips, sausage, all that," says one tailgating fan.

"Really excited! It’s like Christmas at my house. We’re season ticket holders. We’ve been getting ready for this for weeks," said another.

And after months of controversy, these fans say they’re just ready for some football.

"Whatever we’ve had to deal with for the past months has been ridiculous and I’m ready to put it behind me. I’m ready for football to start. I’m ready for the Pats to go out and do what they do best: win football games," said another fan.

Mixed in with those diehard Pats fans at Giliette are some Steelers fans who gave their take on the whole controversy, "Love the Pats but they have nothing on the Steelers!"

Fans say the rain is in no way going to put a damper on this game day, because after all, it is New England, and you have to be prepared for anything.
