FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) – Put the ball in Tom Brady's hands and
there's a decent chance the New England Patriots will score.
With Brady throwing an NFL-leading 27 touchdown passes, the
Patriots are averaging 31.6 points per game, nearly three more than
the second highest scoring team, Philadelphia, with 28.7.
They scored 39 against Pittsburgh, which had the NFL's
fourth-ranked defense at the time. Last Monday night they had 45
against the New York Jets, who were ranked third. On Sunday, they
visit the Chicago Bears, who now are ranked third in defense.
In their 45-3 rout of the Jets, the Patriots scored on their
first four possessions and seven of the 10 they had in the game.
They're on pace to score 505 points this season, which would be
second to the team record of 589 in 2007.
