Pavano Get’s Rocked by the Yankees, but the Twins Prevail.

Pavano hit hard by former team, Twins win

      FORT MYERS, Fla. (AP) – Carl Pavano had his worst start of
spring training against his former team, giving up five runs and 11
hits in six innings but the Minnesota Twins beat the New York
Yankees 7-6 on Sunday.
      Pavano, slated to start on opening day for the Twins, took a
0.95 ERA into Sunday's game. He gave up a solo homer to Robinson
Cano in the first inning. Four of the runs against Pavano were
earned.
      Twins right fielder Michael Cuddyer hit a solo shot. Twins
utility player Matt Tolbert, who learned Sunday he would make the
25-man roster, had a hit and two RBIs.
      Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira went 2 for 3 with two RBIs.
Alex Rodriguez was 0 for 2, lowering his spring average to .404.
