PawSox and Iron Pigs Lose to Mother Nature

PawSox news release…

(Allentown, PA) – Thursday night’s International League game between Pawtucket and Lehigh Valley was postponed by heavy rains in the Allentown area.  The game will be played as part of a doubleheader when the PawSox next return to Coca-Cola Park from August 14th-16th, with the exact date yet to be determined.

Team officials waited approximately 52 minutes after the scheduled 7:05pm first pitch before calling the game as torrential rains fell.  Pawtucket will have to wait until Friday night to try and snap an 11-game losing skid, as the same two teams head north to Rhode Island for a weekend three-game series.

Game one of the upcoming series at McCoy Stadium is scheduled for a 7:05pm first pitch on Friday night.  Left-hander Henry Owens (2-7, 3.42) is expected to start for the PawSox while the IronPigs counter with righty Aaron Nola (3-0, 2.28).
