PawSox Beat the Braves from Gwinnett

Mills slams the door on Braves

Adam Mills turned in his best performance of 2010 on Tuesday night at McCoy Stadium. The righthander gave up one run (unearned) in 7 solid innings to lead the PawSox to a 5-1 victory. Mills (1-3) scattered 3 hits, walked one and struck out 3 batters. Scott Atchison (.2 innings) and Robert Manuel (1.1 innings) finished off Gwinnett. The Braves have scored 4 runs in the series, all unearned.

Mills got all the offensive support he'd need in the second inning. Aaron Bates blasted an opposite field homer to right, a two run shot. In the third, Dusty Brown hit one out to left with a man on to make it 5-0. Josh Reddick had chipped in with an rbi single, as well.

Mike Cameron continued his ML rehab, going 1-3, with a single and a walk. He played centerfield, handling two chances flawlessly. He is scheduled to get Wednesday off, returning to Boston for a physical exam. He is slated to rejoin the PawSox on Thursday.

Wednesday's game begins at 6:15 p.m. Todd Redmond (3-3, 4.59) will face Boof Bonser (0-1, 12.54).
