PawSox Take Down the Braves
The Pawtucket Red Sox earned their third consecutive win on Monday night, crushing Gwinnett 9-2. The PawSox scored 5 runs in the first inning, as starter and loser, Jacob Thompson walked 4 and allowed 5 runs in a third of an inning. Drew Sutton hit two home runs, 1 from each side of the plate for Pawtucket, as part of the eight hit attack. Sutton accounted for three hits. Josh Reddick had 2 hits for the PawSox.
Starter Felix Doubront was outstanding. The lefthander worked 4 and a third innings before reaching his pitch limit. Doubront allowed one run while striking out 7. After 4 starts for the PawSox, Doubront has an ERA o 1.98 for the season. Jason Rice (1-2) earned the victory and Scott Atchison and Clevelan Santeliz finished the game for the Sox.
Pawtucket (18-13) is a half game out of first in the North Division. The series continues on Tuesday night at 6:15 p.m. Mike Minor (1-1, 1.93) faces Matt Fox (3-2, 3.62).
