PawSox Fall at Charlotte on 2-Run Homer
Knights Ride Jackson
to 2-1 Win
Former Red Sox outfielder Conor Jackson belted a fourth
inning, two run homer against Zach Stewart and that was enough to power the
Southern leading Charlotte Knights to a 2-1 win over Pawtucket on Thursday
night in Fort Mill, South Carolina. Stewart took the defeat despite pitching 7
strong innings, scattering 4 hits and striking out 4. The loss drops Stewart to
3-5 and the PawSox to 71-62 with eleven games remaining on the schedule. Lehigh Valley
also lost, so Pawtucket
maintains a half game advantage in the WIld Card chase.
The lone PawSox run scored in the fourth as Andy LaRoche doubled and came
around on a base hit by catcher Dan Butler. Charlie Leesman (12-9, 2.46) got
the win, working 6 innings.
The series continues on Friday night at 7:15 p.m. Matt Zaleski (5-5) faces
Chris Hernandez (1-3).
