PawSox Southern Swing Gets Off to Good Start

PawSox Get Good Start on Southern Swing

 

Lefty Andrew Miller made another great appearance for the PawSox on Friday night in Durham. Miller worked 6 innings, allowing 3 runs as the PawSox beat the first place Bulls 6-3. Miller, who has had control problems at times this year, struck out a season-high nine batters while walking none. Hideki Okajima chipped in with 2 innings of relief and Michael Bowden got the save (#5) working the ninth.

The PawSox scored twice in the first inning on RBI singles by Hector Luna and Lars Anderson. They plated three runs in the third, two on a single by Tony Thomas. Anderson capped the Pawtucket scoring with a towering home run (#3) in the fifth inning.

The victory for the PawSox (29-25) was their fourth in a row. They'll shoot for 5 straight on Saturday at 7:05 p.m. Felix Doubront (0-0, 1.59) will face Dirk Hayhurst (1-0, 2.42).
