PawSox Swept by Tides for 5th Straight Loss

PawSox news release…
(Norfolk, VA) – The Pawtucket Red Sox scored four times in the first inning, but the Norfolk Tides rallied back to complete a four-game sweep of the PawSox with a 5-4 win on Thursday afternoon at Harbor Park in front of 8,455 fans.
The PawSox had a great start, scoring four runs in the first inning off Tyler Wilson (4-5). Allen Craig and Humberto Quintero delivered two-run doubles. Wilson earned his first win since June 9th, completing seven innings on five hits, four runs, two runs and five strikeouts.
Henry Owens was outstanding for the PawSox; he posted his 12th quality start of the year. Owens left the game with a 4-3 lead heading to the bottom of the seventh, but Norfolk scored twice off of Jonathan Aro (0-1). Dariel Alvarez nailed a two-out, two-run double for the game-winning hit.
Owens fanned six over 6 innings on five hits, three runs (two earned) and issued one walk. Christian Walker nailed a two-run double off Owens in the third, but he fanned consecutive batters to end the Norfolk rally.
Norfolk closed out the game with scoreless innings from Cesar Cabral and Pedro Beato, who earned his tenth save.
The PawSox had only three hits after the first inning and were swept for the eighth time this season.
The PawSox open up a six-game homestand with the Buffalo Bisons on Friday night at McCoy Stadium.
