Pawtucket fire under investigation after 13 people are displaced

Police and Fire crews are investigating the cause of an overnight fire in Pawtucket this morning.

The two-alarm fire started around 12:30 a.m. on Monday morning at a triple decker home on Nickerson Street.

The building housed 13 people in 8 individual units. All the residents were able to make it out but one had to be transported to the hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation.

Another tenant had to be assisted off a fire escape by firefighters. 

While fire crews are not calling the incident arson they told ABC6 that they “gathered evidence last night.” Crews remain on scene invsinvestigating

house sustained minimal damage.
