PORTLAND, Maine (WLNE) – A Pawtucket man was arrested in Maine and faces felony firearms charges.

U.S. Attorney Halsey B. Frank said Friday that Salvador Rodrigues, 21, of Pawtucket, was charged with a criminal complaint in U.S. District Court in the District of Maine with being a felon in possession of firearms.

According to the complaint, Rodrigues, convicted on felony firearm and drug charges on May 4th in Rhode Island, illegally acquired five pistols between May 12th and August 23rd.

The U.S. Attorney’s office said a criminal complaint is merely an accusation, and any defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.

If he is found guilty, Rodrigues could face up to 10 years in prison in addition to a $250,000 fine.
