PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WLNE) – A Pawtucket man faces child pornography charges after being arrested by police Friday morning.
RI State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force executed a search warrant of a Magill Street home Friday following an ICAC investigation into an individual sharing child pornography over the internet.
Peter Medeiros, 55, of Pawtucket was arrested as a result of the search warrant. Police said Medeiros was identified as the alleged owner of a piece of digital media used to possess and share child pornography.
Police said Medeiros has a prior record including convictions on multiple charges of first and second degree child molestation.
Medeiros was arraigned in Sixth Division District Court Friday morning and held on $5,000 surety. Special bail conditions limit Medeiros’ internet use and prohibits any unsupervised contact with minors.
