Pawtucket man found guilty of multiple counts of child molestation

PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WLNE)- A Pawtucket man has been found guilty of multiple counts of child molestation.

Milton Aponte, 43, is charged with one count of first-degree child molestation, three counts of second-degree child molestation, and one count of simple assault.

“During the trial, the State proved beyond a reasonable doubt that between 2012 and 2018, the defendant sexually assaulted a female victim under the age of 14, who was known to him, at several locations in Pawtucket,” says Attorney General Peter Neronha.

Investigators from the Pawtucket Police Department determined that the victim had been abused multiple times from the ages of 8 to 13.

Aponte violated terms of a previous sentence for child molestation, and is facing charges for failing to register as a sex offender.

Aponte is being held without bail.
