PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WLNE) – The Pawtucket Police and Fire Departments will be assisting the opening of the Veterans Memorial Pool by contributing food for the community.

The departments will be donating ham baskets instead of turkey to not interfere with other food drives.

The baskets will be delivered the same day of the opening ceremony, depending on length of time required to complete the assembly.

Staff from both departments will meet Thursday, November 18th at 2:00 P.M. to assemble the baskets at the Fire Station on Cottage Street
