Pawtucket police investigate afternoon bank robbery

PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WLNE) — Police in Pawtucket are investigating after a bank on East Avenue was robbed Friday afternoon.

According to police, the Citizens Bank on East Avenue was robbed just after 1 p.m.

Police said a white man wearing dark-colored clothing, a baseball cap and dark sunglasses came into the bank and flashed a firearm.

Investigators said the man ordered several customers to the floor as he demanded cash from the bank tellers.

The suspect left the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash.

No injuries were reported the the investigation is ongoing.
