UPDATE: Suspect charged after involvement in a Saturday morning shooting

PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WLNE) – Pawtucket Police have charged a suspect after a Saturday morning shooting that injured 2 people.
Police say around 8 a.m officers responded to an apartment on Prospect Street for reports of a shooting.
The victims were a 29-year-old male and a 30-year-old female who suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Both were transported to the hospital.
A suspect was located at the scene and a firearm was seized.
Pawtucket Police add that the initial investigation showed the shooting appeared to have taken place inside the apartment and might have been accidental.

The police have identified the suspect as Jose Rodriguez, age 30, of 560 Prospect street.
Rodriguez was charged with: Firing in a compact area, Altercation of Marks of Identification on Firearm, Possession of Firearm by Person Convicted of a Crime of Violence, and 2 counts of Felony Assault.
Rodriguez appeared before a bail commissioner Sunday morning, and will be presented to Providence District Court for a formal arraignment on Monday, March 4th, 2019 at 9:00 a
