PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WLNE) – The Pawtucket Police Department is holding their second annual ‘K9 For Kids’ holiday party for Pawtucket children on Friday.

The department said Watson, their compassion canine, and Neko, their tracking dog, will be in attendance to help make the holidays a little brighter for the communities children.

Due to COVID restrictions, the event will be drive-thru only.  Police remind the community to remain in their cars and wear masks at all times.  The department will be distributing extra masks to the community if needed.

Families will be able to enjoy cookies, hot chocolate, and candy canes while driving through holiday decorations at ‘Winter Wonderland’.  All Pawtucket school aged children are invited to stop by the pavilion and receive a toy from Santa.

The toys have been donated to the police department from the community in the past few weeks.

Those attending are instructed to enter from Newport Avenue between 5-7 p.m. and drive to the first stop (parking lot of Dagget Farm) and the second stop (parking lot near carousel and dog park).

The Pawtucket Police Department, the Community Policing Unit, and the department K9’s thank the community for their support and consideration.
