Pawtucket transfer station permanently closed to commercial use
PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WLNE) — The City of Pawtucket closed the transfer station on Grotto Avenue to commercial material on June 30.
Grace Voll, a spokesperson for the mayor’s office, said that the city will no longer be accepting any commercial trash material.
“If a resident or a contractor is looking to dispose of their commercial material, it can be brought to Rhode Island Resource Recovery, located at 65 Shun Pike in Johnston,” Voll said.
She added that private residents will be able to dispose of household and yard waster at the station starting July 17.
The city will release further information on operating hours and accepted material in the near future.
