Pawtucket woman charged with simple assault in ‘physical incident’ involving child, police say

NORTH SMITHFIELD, R.I. (WLNE) — A Pawtucket woman faces a simple assault charge in connection to an incident at Briarwood Child Academy, North Smithfield police said Wednesday.

Police said they received a complaint from a parent Tuesday who claims a “physical incident” directed at their child occurred while they were in the care of 44-year-old Kelly Teixeira at the school.

No further information on the incident was released.

ABC 6 News reached out to Briarwood Child Academy for a statement but have yet to hear back.
