PC news release…

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – For the third straight week, the Providence College men’s hockey team remained No. 3 in the latest national polls announced on Monday (Jan. 18). Dating back to Feb. 25, 2013, Providence has been ranked in the USCHO.com poll for 77 straight weeks and has elevated itself to No. 4 in the PairWise rankings.

Providence secured four important points in the Hockey East standings after a weekend road sweep at Vermont last weekend.  Reigning Hockey East Player of the Week Trevor Mingoia paced the Friars with five points, while Brian Pinho (1-3-4) and Mark Jankowski (2-1-3) also chipped in with key production over the weekend.

A top-10 matchup awaits the Friars this weekend as they battle No. 8/9 UMass Lowell in a home-and-home series beginning on Friday at Schneider Arena.?
