PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Hockey East Association announced today the following schedule changes for the upcoming weekend of Jan. 22-24:

The Providence College men’s hockey team will travel to UMass on Friday, January 22 for a 3 p.m. puck drop. On Saturday, the Friars will host the Minutemen at 7 p.m. on NESN+ to conclude the home-and-home series.

The Providence College women’s hockey team will take on Northeastern in a home-and-home series beginning Friday, January 22 on NESN+ at 4:30 p.m. The teams will face-off again at Schneider Arena on Saturday, January 23 at 12 p.m.

In a decision aimed at allowing the maximum amount of games to be scheduled for each member school, the Hockey East Association announced today that previously released composite schedules for both the men and women’s leagues will be set aside and the remainder of the 2020-21 season will continue to be scheduled on a weekly basis.

The move comes with a stated goal to create as much variety and parity in the schedule as possible while and adhering to all required health and safety protocols with a maximum of seven weeks remaining the regular season.
