Pedestrian struck and killed in Cranston accident

CRANSTON, R.I. (WLNE)- Police are on the scene of a crash where a woman was struck and killed in Cranston.

Cranston Police have identified the woman as 58-year-old Rhonda Lobuono.

The accident happened at the intersection of Intervale Road and Aqueduct Road at around 5 p.m. on Thursday.

Police tell ABC6 that Lobuono was walking her dog just around the corner from her home when she was struck by a truck.

The truck had been stopped at a stop sign and was looking at another vehicle to see if that driver was going to go first.

When he hit the gas, Lobuono was already in front of him and there wasn’t time to react.
