Peer to Peer Recovery Support Center spreads awareness in Fall River

Peer To Peer Fall River Substance Recovery Event

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) – Steppingstone’s Peer to Peer Recovery Support Center in Fall River held a recovery day event, in support of those who are in recovery from a substance use disorder

As September is International Recovery Month, Stand Up and Stand Out was put in place to bring awareness, advocate, and show support to those seeking recovery due to substance use.

Addiction experts, along with those recovering from substance addiction, were stationed at ten locations throughout the city in effort to start a conversation between those recovering, and those seeking help and additional information.

Kari Phillips, a volunteer told ABC6, “Somebody did it for me. Somebody gave it to me, helped change my life and turn my life around, and so to be able to do that for somebody else is an incredible feeling; it’s kind of hard to put into words.”
