The State and the Public employees unions have been ordered back into mediation after one of the six voting groups rejected the proposed pension settlement.

The teachers, retirees, state workers, municipal workers, and fire fighters accepted the proposed deal by a wide margin, however, 61% of the police officers rejected the pension deal.

More than 70 percent of eligible union members accepted the deal, however, according to the terms of the agreement if more than 50 percent of one of the Plaintiff's group were to reject the deal then the settlement process ends.

As a result the Plaintiffs have informed the judge of their intentions to move forward with the pension lawsuit.
