Pfizer warning about counterfeit versions of its COVID-19 vaccine
Pfizer is issuing a warning about counterfeit versions of its COVID-19 vaccine.
The drug maker says three fraudulent shots were identified in Mexico and Poland.
Pfizer released a statement Wednesday.
It says the anonymity from the internet as well as the east of e-commerce are factors behind the boost in illicit actions regarding COVID-19 treatments.
Pfizer says its team of specialists are working with law enforcement officials and others to fight the illegal trade.
It also stresses no legitimate vaccine is ever sold online and vaccinations must be administered at official centers or by certified healthcare providers.
