HANSON, Mass. (WLNE) – The pilot involved in a midday plane crash Friday has died from his injuries, according to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s office.

At about 4:00 p.m. on Friday, a man walking his dog observed a small, yellow plane submerged nose down in a pond and called 911.

At the scene of the crash, first responders recovered two individuals — brothers Scott Landis, 34, and Patrick Landis, 29, of Hanson.

Scott Landis, the pilot of the plane, died of his injuries at Massachusetts General Hospital.

Patrick Landis remains in treatment at Tufts Medical Center. His condition is not known.

According to Donald Conway, the uncle of the brothers, Scott and Patrick Landis were scattering the ashes of their late father.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
