Plane crashes in residential area near Mass. airport
STOW, Mass. (WLNE) — Three people were airlifted to hospitals after the small plane they were traveling in crashed into a wooded residential area near a Massachusetts airfield, WCVB reports.
The Cessna 182 came down just south of Minute Man Air Field on Sunday.
Authorities said it crashed beside a home on Taylor Road.
Stow Fire Chief John Paul Benoit said the crash was reported by multiple calls to 911 just after 1 p.m.
He added that when first responders arrived a resident pointed them to the plane.
First responders had to cut a trapped passenger free from the wreckage.
All three people were out within 30 minutes, Benoit said.
Several damaged trees were seen near the downed aircraft and yellow crime scene tape encircled part of the backyard.
