Plane crashes into Middleborough bog, pilot walks away unhurt

MIDDLEBOROUGH, Mass. (WLNE) — An ultralight aircraft crashed into a wooded area near a Middleborough bog Saturday afternoon.
The crash happened just after 3 p.m. in the area of 200 Thomas Street.
Police said officers and firefighters found that the pilot, a 66-year-old Plymouth man, had already exited the aircraft and was unhurt.
The Federal Aviation Authority was notified of the incident.
A preliminary investigation indicated that the engine may have failed, causing the pilot to crash into the wooded area.
