Pleasant Wednesday before cold front arrives
Providence, R.I. (WLNE)– Wednesday will be a mild spring day with temperatures reaching the normal of 52 degrees for this time of year. Clouds increase in the evening hours, and a cold front pushes through after 1am. Once the front moves through that will drop us down to about 27 degrees by 5-6am.
Will we see snow? Highly unlikely, as we stay too warm at the surface, but Smithfield, RI, might catch a flurry overnight- if your lucky. For the rest of us we will see about .25-.30 of rain overnight in that window.
Winds will be breezy Thursday, and if you plan on going to opening day at Fenway, dress in layers because that northwest wind will make it feel like it’s 30 degrees.
We warm up Friday with a south wind returning, and Saturday we will catch some isolated showers early, but those move out and we top out at 60 degrees later in the day. Rain totals will likely be in the ballpark of .25-.50 (half an inch.)
