Police arrest 19, seek to arrest 6 more in undercover investigation at Kennedy Plaza

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Providence police named 25 suspects after an undercover investigation into illegal drug sales at Kennedy Plaza.

Police and Mayor Brett Smiley provided an update Thursday on a narcotics investigation that stretched on for several months.

“Increasing public safety throughout every neighborhood has been a top priority of my Administration and we know that it is a top concern for our residents,” Smiley said. “Today, I am proud to bring them peace of mind for the many people who use this central hub in our city.”

The department arrested 19 of the suspects and have warrants out for the other six: Sandro Anaya, Christopher Bourage, Argenis Fernandez, Richard Jackson, Jason Montiero, and David Perry.

Police said the following are in custody:

  • Kelly Barboza, 46 — 2 counts of unlawful delivery of cocaine and conspiracy
  • Richard Bowman, 56 — unlawful delivery of cocaine, conspiracy
  • Alex Brigs, 27 — unlawful delivery of cocaine, conspiracy
  • Kwame Colon, 26 — unlawful delivery of cocaine
  • Jodecilynn Costa, 27 — unlawful delivery of cocaine, conspiracy
  • Odessa DeSuze, 46 — 2 counts of unlawful delivery of cocaine, 2 counts of conspiracy
  • Christopher Fuller, 42 — unlawful delivery of cocaine, conspiracy
  • Solomon Gibbs, 48 — unlawful delivery of cocaine
  • Gregory Gonzalez, 51 — unlawful delivery of cocaine, conspiracy
  • Jerome Jones, 45 — unlawful delivery of cocaine, conspiracy
  • Tajah, Manning, 46 — unlawful delivery of cocaine, conspiracy
  • Douglas Nalls, 39 — unlawful delivery of cocaine
  • Christopher Penado, 31 — unlawful delivery of cocaine, conspiracy
  • Ashley Perry, 34 — unlawful delivery of cocaine, conspiracy
  • Jose Rivera, 43 — 2 counts of unlawful delivery of cocaine, 2 counts of conspiracy
  • Paul Salas, 30 — unlawful delivery of cocaine, conspiracy
  • Harry Smiley, 52 — unlawful delivery of cocaine, conspiracy
  • Ethan Wallace, 25 — unlawful delivery of cocaine
  • Kelly King, 35 — unlawful delivery of cocaine, conspiracy

Police said those apprehended were arrested over the last couple weeks.
