Police arrest 5 after mugging in Providence

Police have arrested five people after a mugging on Hudson Street in Providence Friday night.

It happened around 9 p.m. when Brian Sullivan, 26, of Providence, was approached near 155 Hudson Street by three men—two of which were wearing ski masks and carrying handguns.

According to the police report, the suspects stole Sullivan’s smartphone, a movie discount card, groceries, and a bag containing his karate uniform. The suspect then fled in a vehicle.

The car was later located and stopped on Wilson Street and the five occupants were taken into custody.

Police found two BB guns on the floor of the vehicle. One of the occupants was found with a ski mask around his neck, and another had a ski mask at his feet and was wearing black gloves.

Three smartphones were found in possession of the suspects.
